No. Your Sutter Health Plus coverage and benefits are not changing. 

We realize decisions like this impact our members and we will do everything we can to help you through the transition. While this wasn’t an easy decision, we believe it will help Sutter Health Plus better meet the needs of our members and customers.

I can tell you that even with this transition Sutter Health Plus has a comprehensive network including over 1,500 PCPs and 5,300 specialists. It also has Sutter’s well-respected and highly rated medical groups.

You do not need to do anything. Sutter Health Plus will assign you a new PCP and mail you a new ID card with the updated information. If you prefer to select a PCP yourself, we can help you find one now or you can use the Provider Locator online to find available PCPs in your area.

We will send you a new ID card within 10 calendar days after changing your PCP.

Some PCPs from both medical groups are contracting directly with Sutter through other medical groups to remain in the Sutter Health Plus network. To see if your PCP will remain in the Sutter Health Plus network in a different medical group, use the Provider Locator page.

The Sutter Health Plus online provider directory will have a notation for each PCP that will no longer be available as of January 1, 2021.

Yes. Specialists with Brown & Toland Physicians in San Francisco County continue to be in network in 2021.

For new referrals in 2021, your new PCP has access to these Brown & Toland Physician specialists, in addition to specialists within your new medical group.

If you are in the middle of an ongoing course of treatment, you will be able to complete the course of treatment with your specialist.

Open authorizations from Brown & Toland Physicians – East Bay will be honored for at least 90 days after the transition. After that time, your PCP may direct your care back into your medical group’s network. Discuss your ongoing treatment needs with your PCP.
